Why Roof-Top Rainwater Collection Works
Thousands of gallons of fairly good naturally purified water may fall on the average rooftop. Fairly good, means only for secondary uses, for the most part, but rainwater collection can be better than creek water, if those are your only two choices, because the creek water may have pathogens, from cattle droppings.
Some natural forms of dirt and dust may get into it, in either case, which doesn't really hurt that much. What can hurt are some very unnatural results, which might leach out of some very unnatural products like asphalt shingles, or fiberglass panels, which would not be the best way to design your system.
Corrugated metal, on the other hand, or clay tile, or cement tile, or slate, might work just fine.
Natural untreated wood shake shingles would still be quite decent, ass well, since the roof does not put out anything unnatural, even if it does pick up the usual bird droppings, and dust and pollen, and other natural debris, which is not the most dangerous thing in the world, since any normal human being should be coming into full contact with all of that stuff every single day, since the days of childhood.
Some of the children in this group, who have not been in contact with the natural materials, or the natural ideas, are the ones who may seem to have all these allergies to anything new that is not mass produced in some factory somewhere, and has not been given the rubber stamp of approval of the usual people who do their thinking for them, and make them feel good, like they are not going to be left out after all, if they just conform to what has been mass produced, as a predigested belief.
In the Sustainable Community, that water is seen as being a buildup problem, and a concentration problem, just like the people can be as well, and there is a problem, in either case, as to what to do with it, from an erosion standpoint, or an overpopulation standpoint, so it might better be used as a secondary water supply, to be there in case the primary water supply goes down, so the problem becomes a solution.
This is about, among other things, the re-localization of self reliance, not another extension of Global Dependency.
That we might want to have our own backup systems in place, on the EcoVillage scale, as well as the Homestead Scale, instead of depending upon T's deep pockets, and it becomes obvious that it would be good to have a very low tech backup system, on the more local scale, which is where we live, as resources really do need to be stored and backed up on every scale, such as Food and Money, as well as Replacement People.
Not only should there be a World Food Bank, but there should be a North American Food Bank, an American Food Bank, and a Californian Food Bank, a Mendocino County Food Bank, and a Willits Food Bank, and a North Coast Food Bank, and an Eel River Food Bank, and a Middle Fork Food Bank, and an Eden Valley Food Bank, and an even more localized Homestead Food Bank, which is your very own 5 year food supply.
But only those who put Food into the Bank, and into their respective accounts, don't you now, can ever be allowed to take 80 percent of that Food back out of that Food Bank Account. that is the highest level. Charity is an entirely different thing, which is a questionable lower level process, at best, which is dangerously akin to world wide dependency on the great big one giant worldwide provider.
We should not all be dependent upon the One Big Supermarket in the Sky, or whatever it is that is just Too Big too Fail, like America, which just means that we have all become just too dependent upon the One Big Whatever it is, and that we just could not function without it, and hence all these bailouts, because we have no localized self reliance, and no backups, which should be there, on several different levels, because we have sold out all of our Tribal Food Caches, and the natural storage of reserves of all the Nutrients and Resources, which belong to the Earth, and which need to be put back in place, and should be stored, and preserved, and protected, and sustained, by being kept alive, as a healthy EcoSystem, which contains Food, on every level, like the Earths Water in the ground, which is not our water, but it is the Earths Water, and it is Edens Water, that we must agree to protect, to to die, not that we should even consider the option, to gut
and run out, on the Earth, like the rest, who will just run out on a bad debt, and leave their homelands, and their tribes and their families, or to cash in on anything we can take the slightest advantage of, such as a little resistance against T, which gives you the option to side against him, so you can take advantage of the kill, as he goes down, leaving a window in the forest canopy, which all can exploit, or to cash out on the Community, and to sell out on the Earth, like some of these others have done, when dealing with the land, and the resources of the Valley, which we are going to be trying to increase, not to decrease what is there, or once was there, within the natural systems of our lives, and needs to be restored, which we do not own, so please do try to listen to these humble words of Truth.
The difference here, is that the people were taught to become totally dependent upon the One Big Shopping Mall in the Sky, or the One Big Global Economy, which is an obsolete old school ethic that now needs to be uprooted and destroyed, because that is not Sustainable, not on every single level, and if it is not sustainable on every single level, it is not sustainable at all.
This is the kind of Truth Talk that you have all signed up to respond to, or to be taken down by, not just to phase out on, which is not an option unless you want to fail, which is something that we do recognize here, your failures, and we will tally them all up one day.
That is my job, to make these distinctions, and to clarify these matters, and I am very good at my job.
That is why I get paid the big bucks, on many different levels, for making these all important distinctions, which is the key to our great success, which has been very hard come by, as I have had to access secret files from outside the Universe, on more than one occasion, but now you can see that we have something real to bring to the table, and that is why I have a right to command a certain amount of honor and might command the power to create and to destroy, as if I were as one of the Gods, while these other brothers may go down in flames, without even the slightest recognition around here, when they die, for nothing but need and greed, and the service of their own man made God of Self Centric over indulgence, which is one of the Dead Gods by the way, for they have earned nothing, and they have produced nothing, and they have married up, with the wrong God.
And so there is a choice here, to choose life, or it will be death, if you do not choose to choose, and that is what we call Justice.
We do have a meeting coming up this month, among equals, to consider the possibilities that an EcoVillage opens up, when it comes to the creation of a viable alternative, to the Old School Ethics of Over-Consumption and Self Centric Living, like there was no tomorrow, and like nothing mattered, but keeping up appearances, and trying to fit in with the crowd until your die for nothing, but the fear of Truth, and the worst kind of self pity, which is the fate of all the wannabees, who can only count themselves among the last and the least among us, who may have no specific rights in Eden, but to look, and not to touch, so do bring the highest levels of honor and respect to our table, if you would live on, among us.
